The Sun is Out, And So Are We!
It’s that time of year in Louisville when the weather is warming up, patio season is upon us and outdoor events are back! Just as the trees are getting greener and the flowers are blossoming, we’re gearing up for the return of some of our favorite annual events.
This is an exciting time of the year at Cambium, as many of our clients’ events and community events take place over the next couple of months. After nearly two years of essentially no events, we’re especially looking forward to being part of some of Louisville’s most celebrated and well-known events!
From Waterfront Park’s Fridays At The Front to the Unbridled Eve Derby Gala and Forecastle Festival there is no shortage of fun to be had this spring and summer! Below are some of the events coming up that we’re involved in, either through Cambium or through our own personal community endeavors.
Fridays At The Front
Waterfront Park’s Fridays At The Front is the perfect way to end the work week and kick off the weekend! Taking place on the Big Four Lawn, this free pop up food truck experience features tasty food and drink options, live music and plenty of green space for friends and families of all ages! Fridays At The Front takes place on select Fridays in April, June and July, with the first one of the season kicking off this Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Brunch +Bark By The Bridge
The only thing better than Sunday Funday is Sunday Funday with dogs! Waterfront Park is thrilled to put their own spin on a favorite Sunday tradition. Brunch +Bark By The Bridge is a free event and features food trucks, live music, as well as drink specials. You don’t want to miss the first one of the season, happening this Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., because the Kentucky Humane Society will be on-site with adorable puppies, giveaways, merch, and they’re bringing a very special guest... Ethan! A percentage of Sunday’s proceeds will support KHS’s lifesaving programs. Brunch +Bark By The Bridge takes place on select Sundays in April, June and July.
WFPK Waterfront Wednesday
What would summer be without WFPK Waterfront Wednesday? These free concerts on the Big Four Lawn offer a gorgeous view of the river and the Big Four Bridge. 2022 is a milestone year, as WFPK Waterfront Wednesday celebrates its 20th season! This is one of the most well-attended and recognized events in Louisville, so be sure to reserve the last Wednesday of each month from April to September for WFPK Waterfront Wednesday. Local food trucks, a cash bar, and other food options are available. The lawn opens at 5 pm and music begins at 6 pm.
Unbridled Eve Derby Gala
Held on Oaks night, the Unbridled Eve Derby Gala is one of the most anticipated events of the year for Louisvillians, celebrities and racing enthusiasts! On Saturday the Mint Juleps will flow, the call to the post will sound, and bets will be made, but first, come experience a night of southern grace, charm and hospitality at its finest during the Unbridled Eve Derby Gala.
Old Louisville LIVE
Live music fans, listen up! Old Louisville LIVE is a free concert series in Central Park. The series resumes Friday, May 13th with one of Louisville’s favorites bands, The Crashers! Mark your calendars for September 6th and 7th with back to back nights of Jazz and Country music. Local food trucks will be onsite, Old Louisville Brewery will be pouring craft beers, and the concession stand will be open with bourbon from Heaven Hill available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council.
Forecastle Festival
Started in 2002 in Tyler Park, Forecastle Festival has grown to be one of Louisville's biggest music festivals. This year’s lineup includes Louisville’s own Jack Harlow, Tame Impala, Phoebe Bridgers, Tyler The Creator, Black Pumas and more! But it’s not just about the music; The Forecastle Foundation is the environmental activism arm of the festival whose mission is to protect and connect the world’s natural awesome by funding and supporting projects that help protect the world’s natural resources with a focus on biodiversity hotspots. Lauren is a founding board member and currently serves as the Vice Chair. David is the current Chair of the board, and together they manage Forecastle Foundation’s activation area at the festival. If you’re planning to attend Forecastle this Memorial Day weekend, stop by to see what we’re all about, meet our environmental partners, check out our live art murals, bid on some #naturallyawesome and so much more!
As you can see, there is plenty of fun in the sun to be had! We hope to see you at one (or all) of these events, but in the meantime if you’re interested in learning more about Cambium Marketing, send us a note or give us a call, 502-403-8819.
