Happy Independents Month!

It’s no secret that we have a special love for local businesses here at Cambium, which is why we’ve been celebrating local, independent businesses this month, which is Independents Month. What better way to wrap up Independents Month than at the Louisville Independent Business Alliance’s annual Buy Local Fair?

LIBA’s Buy Local Fair returns to Louisville Water Tower Park on Saturday, July 30, noon to 6:00 p.m. The fair features all local businesses, including food & drink vendors, artists and craftspeople, farmers and more! The Cambium team will be in attendance! Check out where you can find us at the Buy Local Fair:

LaurenHead first in a trash can searching for compostable and recyclable materials! Lauren is in charge of the "trash talkers" at the fair, who help educate patrons about what's compostable, recyclable, and trash. She had not experienced composting at many events, besides Forecastle Festival, and always wondered why that was. It was time for LIBA to lead by example! If LIBA could incorporate more eco-friendly practices into their events, then maybe that would inspire other local events and businesses to do the same. She was only a committee member at the time, but when she approached LIBA about adding a compostable element to the fair they were more than happy to explore it! We are proud of LIBA's commitment to the environment, which is just one of the many reasons why we at Cambium are proud LIBA members!

David: Chatting it up with every vendor! The Buy Local Fair is not only a fun and convenient way to support numerous local businesses throughout Louisville but also a chance to discover and learn about so many new vendors. It's a great way to talk to these businesses directly in person which allows you to understand not only what products or services they offer, but the stories of those who live in our community.

AmberWeaving through the crowd and checking out every booth! With more than 100 local vendors, there is so much to see. This will be Amber's first official Buy Local Fair after attending the scaled-down version last year due to COVID. She is most excited to check out the MELANnaire Marketplace supporting Black-owned businesses and the Kidpreneur Market featuring mini businesses run by young folks. This fair is such a unique opportunity for small up-and-coming businesses to showcase their work!

If you are interested in joining the trash talkers or volunteering at this year's fair, click here. Admission is free, but parking is $6 in advance or $8 at the gate. 100% of the parking fee goes back to helping LIBA “Keep Louisville Weird”.

We hope to see you there!
